Extreme Cold Weather Update – Friday, Jan. 23

North Texas remains under an Extreme Cold Warning through noon Monday, Jan. 26. Due to frigid temperatures and the potential for icy roads, some Children’s Health℠  locations will operate on adjusted schedules on Monday. 

Adjusted operations – Monday, Jan. 26

  • Outpatient clinics: All Children’s Health outpatient clinics are closed for in-person appointments. Appointments will be held virtually or rescheduled.

  • Primary care clinics: All Children’s Health primary care clinics are closed for in-person appointments. Appointments will be held virtually or rescheduled.

  • Surgery centers: Dallas and Plano surgery centers will open on a delayed schedule, with procedures beginning at 9 a.m. 

Normal operations

  • Hospitals: Children’s Medical Center Dallas and Children’s Medical Center Plano remain open for inpatient care, including emergency rooms and hospital-based clinics such as the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders and End-Stage Renal Disease clinics. 

For team members

Team members scheduled to work onsite are encouraged to take extra care when traveling and to check email regularly for updates on any additional delays or closures.

Our Emergency Management team is closely monitoring National Weather Service forecasts and will share updates as needed. Safety remains our top priority.
